Seth is responsible for preparing personal and business tax returns, tax planning and any financial consulting that clients might need. He is currently the coordinator of the UVM Tax Schools which provides continuing education to about 400 tax professionals. He has written several sections of The National Income Tax Workbook and is an instructor at the UVM Tax Schools as well as a guest lecturer for a UVM undergraduate class. Seth is currently the President of the VT Tax Practitioner’s Association, is on a committee that meets once a year with Congress’ Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) as well as the IRS in Washington D.C. He graduated from Bryant University with a concentration in accounting and was a Captain in the US Army. He is licensed as an Enrolled Agent and a member of the National Associations of Tax Preparers (NATP), VT Tax Practitioners Association (VTPA) and the Land Grant University Tax Education Foundation. Seth, originally from Mendon, VT currently resides in Charlotte, VT with his wife Sera, son Caden, nephew Ryan and dog Gia.
Deena works primarily during tax season preparing individual tax returns, 1099s and W-2s. She is responsible for preparing tax returns, communicating with clients and gathering additional information to finish tax returns. She is a member of the Vermont Tax Practitioner Association. Deena resides in Ferrisburgh, VT with her husband Dave, daughters Leah and Ally, and son Ethan.
Adam Marchesseault is an Enrolled Agent and tax preparer at Birch Tree Tax. He graduated from the University of Vermont in 2016 with a degree in Economics, founded a local company, and worked as a private consultant and researcher for Vermont-based nonprofits. In early 2021, Adam joined the Birch Tree team, specializing in the preparation of individual and small business returns. After attaining his EA designation in late 2021, his responsibilities have grown to include communications with the IRS and state agencies. Outside of work, Adam enjoys hiking, traveling, and writing, and has a passion for world history.
Tory Eichler is Operations Manager at Birch Tree Tax. She has lots of varied responsibilities, including communicating with clients, processing and tracking client materials, scheduling appointments, streamlining business processes, bookkeeping, supplying the office, administrative support, and generally ensuring that the business runs smoothly. A native New Englander, Tory is ecstatic to have moved to Burlington in January of 2021 after graduating from Oberlin College in Ohio, and then spending some time in New York City. Avocationally, she enjoys alpine skiing, cooking, New England history, and meeting new people.
